Julia Fox’s infamous fox eye and leather-ification
Ever since her relationship with Kanye West went all over the internet, her style also became the talk of the town.
During his relationship with ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, West allegedly dressed her up, aka revamped her style, for nearly the whole relationship. Prior to that, Kardashian’s fashion interest was more towards the typical L. A. style with high heels and flashy mini dresses, until West came into her life (and walk-in closets!). She started to look more often minimalist, elevated, and sophisticated, replacing skin tight dresses with biker shorts, with muted colors dominating her wardrobe’s color scheme.
The same thing happened with his ex after, Julia Fox. At the time, Fox was relatively an unknown model and actress, with no significant fashion presence. After the two started dating in early 2022, Fox began appearing in various media with black “fox eye” makeup and various types of leather dresses, making name for herself. Although initially West and Fox’s relationship goal of going public was as a “retaliation” for the hot topic that Kardashian was dating Pete Davidson, Fox’s new daring style caught everyone’s attention that in February, she already walked down the runway for LaQuan Smith.
Sitting front row at Versace Fall 2022 runway in Milan, Fox was dressed in black latex two pieces, black leather boots, black Versace Medusa bag, and floor-length latex ponytail, with black eye makeup by Pat McGrath that inspired the show’s makeup look.
Wearing a rather simple her white DIY Hanes tank top, made into a cropped shirt and mini skirt, Fox did not forget to complement the look with black latex gloves, black thigh-high boots, and a black Balenciaga purse, turning a casual look into super “foxy.”
Attending Vanity Fair’s Oscars after-party in Beverly Hills, Fox dialed up the drama with black full-length leather dress with an iconic chokehold on the neck by Han Kjøbenhavn, black gloves, and black human hair clutch by Charlie Le Mindu.
Taking a midnight stroll on the streets of Paris, Fox showed up in a strapless with neckline details, high-slit leather LBD by Giuseppe di Morabito Winter 2022. Captioned, “Drippy”, her hair was styled wet and sleek.
Making Paris her own street style runway, Fox was seen in a black leather mini dress by SEKS with big zipper on the bust and hooks on the thighs, while carrying her favorite black Balenciaga purse.
Once again seen on the streets of big cities, this time being West Hollywood’s sidewalks, Fox was laced up in a black leather barely-there lace-up dress with dramatic cut-outs by Luis de Javier, and black leather boots by Le Silla.
Her most recent look was a black full-length backless leather trench coat with exaggerated shoulders by Paul Benzing A/W 2022, black leather pointy thigh-high boots, black gloves, and black Balenciaga purse, topped with her new bleached eyebrows.
Taking the world by storm, the Julia Fox phenomenon is something us girls have been craving and badly needed, whether or not it was West’s creation. We all have longed for a high fashion icon casually walking down the streets in eccentric full leather and black heavy eye makeup among these basic celebrities, and she should be protected at all costs!
